Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office
In-house legal counsel to Cal Henderson, Sheriff of Hillsborough County. My practice consisted of providing advice to the Sheriff for all areas of his office, including personnel issues, liability issues, civil rights, sexual harassment, policy and procedure, and contracts. As in-house counsel, I also represented the Sheriff in Court and successfully defended the Office in hundreds of civil trials in both state and federal court.

April 1997-

Assistant State Attorney, Hillsborough County
I worked under the Honorable Harry Lee Coe, III and prosecuted hundreds of felony, misdemeanor, and DUI traffic cases. My responsibilities included managing 450 felony cases and running an entire division alone. This included preparing the cases for filing, and for trial.

My experiences included representing individuals and businesses charged with White Collar Crimes in Federal Court. Responsibilities also included writing and updating White Collar Crime, published by Shepard's McGraw Hill. This publication is updated biannually and includes forms for practitioners of defending individuals charged with White Collar Crimes.

Law Clerk to the Honorable David Hittner, United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of Texas
My experiences included researching and writing Opinions and Orders for the Judge's review. I also sat in on evidentiary hearings needed to gather facts for the Orders.
